Librarian Volunteer Programme @ SBPL
Canberran librarians are now officially FRIENDS of the LIBRARY.
Started the first session at SBPL tdy.... went through briefing, tour of the back room (work room) & hands-on book display & theme-based decoration.
An enriching afternoon @ SBPL....looking forward to the next session in following week! They can expect to be doing something different for SBPL every week. This programme will last from Jul - Sept 2009 for this year.

I think that being the friends of library is quite fun.
We can see how they operate their system which is other will not know.
For that day,we took our school display item and hang it on the wall in sembawang library,It was about sports.
We also find some books to display on the table,for readers to read and get to know more about sports.
Of course,All the librarians enjoyed the program and all of us put in effort to do it.
We Know How the librarians handle those returned books and it was INTERESTING.
We attended the briefing and we understand what the librarians should or should not do.
We also get to know more about national library e.g.Things they should Know.
It's the 1st time we've been a volunteer in de library and i tink its interesting as we get to noe wad volunteery work is like in de library . we get to see wad de librian in NLB does and we also have de chance to go into de workroom and see how books are arrange and den to be put into de shelve accordingly . we also did de hands-on book display & theme-based decoration which i tink in fun and meaningful as we get to contribute our work to de library . overall , i tink tt its fun .
i think that having this kind of programme will develop our teamwork.We also had the chance to work wit mr felix during our programme...another thing is that he also introduced one new book to me...so i got to view a book that was very informative.
I have fun at the librarian volunteer programme.i also learnt somethings which i do not know at first.we learnt how 2 interect with the others and learnt how 2 communicate with them when we are helping one another.i also learnt 2build up my confident.i also leanrt to do some art work and newspapers packing. i also learnt that we must work hard 2 acheive what we want it to be in future.
i think it is fun.we do hari raya decoration such as cards and posters.we also do f1 race poster and many more.my group do the Hari Raya cards while the others group do the f1 race and posters.we also go the Sembawang library to put up the display. we also find books about the f1 race.it is important to know the rules and regulation.i was very happy and i enjoy myself very much.our group do posters and cards while others do f1 race posters.
